Advising homeowners across the UK
Looking for a mortgage? Compare your options with us.
Find out what you could borrow & explore your options. We compare lenders across the whole market, show you what your current deal really costs, and call you back at a time that suits you.
- Free, no-obligation review of your current mortgage
- Whole-of-market comparison, not one lender's menu
- A real adviser on the phone — never a call centre
How it works
Three simple steps, no jargon and no pressure.
- 1
Tell us about your mortgage
Balance, lender, rate or deal type, term and property value — two minutes on the form.
- 2
We review and call you back
An adviser checks your figures against current deals and rings you at your chosen time.
- 3
See what you could save
Clear numbers, side by side. If staying put is best, we'll tell you that too.
First-time buyers
Buying your first home? We'll make it simple.
Find out what you could borrow, how much deposit you really need and what your monthly payments might look like. We explain every step in plain English — no jargon, no pressure and no cost to you.
Nationwide advice, whole-market reach
We work with homeowners, buyers and landlords right across the UK — everything is done by phone and email, so where you live makes no difference. Whether you're looking for a cheaper rate, your fixed term is coming to an end, you're moving, or you're buying your first home, we compare the true cost of each option — rate, fees and term together — so you can see the whole picture. We also help landlords and buy-to-let investors find the right deal for their rental properties.
"They looked at our existing deal, ran the numbers properly and rang us back exactly when they said they would. Straightforward and completely free."
Mortgage questions, answered
What people ask us most before booking a callback.
- What is Mortgage Cost Comparison?
- Mortgage Cost Comparison is a UK-wide mortgage broker and a trading name of Abacus Mortgages Direct Ltd, which is directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 465465. We have more than 40 years of mortgage experience and compare deals for first-time buyers, homeowners remortgaging and buy-to-let landlords.
- How much does it cost to get a mortgage comparison?
- The comparison and the callback are free and carry no obligation. If any fee would apply to arranging your mortgage, your adviser tells you the exact amount before you commit to anything.
- Do you cover my area?
- Yes. We advise clients right across England, Scotland and Wales. Everything is handled by phone and email, so where you live makes no difference to the service or the deals available to you.
- Will enquiring affect my credit score?
- No. Asking for a comparison involves no credit search. A hard search only happens later, if you decide to go ahead with a full mortgage application.
- How quickly will someone call me back?
- Usually within one working day, and at the time slot you choose on the form — morning, afternoon or evening.
- What information do you need from me?
- For an existing mortgage: your current balance, lender, rate or deal type, remaining term and an estimate of your property's value. If you are buying your first home: your deposit, target purchase price and household income. It takes a couple of minutes.
